Secunda Police search for families of deceased men
Anybody with information can contact Secunda Police or the investigating officers.
Police are looking for the families of two men found dead in two separate cases. A pedestrian discovered the body of a man in the field next to the old Mercedes dealership, on September 1, last year at approximately 13:30.
He appeared to be between 35 and 40 years old. He was wearing blue overall pants, a blue T-shirt and no shoes. They found a blanket next to him. Police suspect the man was homeless and could have been a foreign national.
The police took his fingerprints and sent them for identification, but returned with no results. Arrangements for his burial will now be made.
The police urged anybody with information that could lead them to this man’s family or a family missing a relative since September last year to contact the investigating officer, Sergeant Shadrak Raphahlelo, on 076 531 6801.

In another case, the body of a man, burnt beyond recognition, was discovered near the Spoornet houses at Greenfields, on June 21.
Police responded to the scene and because of the severity of the burns, his bones were his only remains. According to the police, they found a shovel next to the deceased man.
They suspected the man was digging for underground cables. The police still need to do DNA testing to identify the deceased.
The police again urged anybody with information about the man’s family, or family who has been missing a relative since June 21, to contact the investigating officer Constable Nonjabulo Khumalo at 079 499 9010.
Anybody with information can also go to Secunda Police Station.
