Grootdraai Dam dips below 70%

The Department of Water and Sanitation urges the community to limit water use because the Grootdraai Dam has dipped below 70%.
According to the latest State of Reservoirs Report, the Grootdraai Dam has dropped from 70.3% to 69.9%. This is a significant drop compared to the 81.3% recorded at the same time last year.
Most dams in the Gert Sibande District also recorded declines.
The Nooitgedacht Dam dropped from 75.7% to 75.5%, Vygeboom from 87.6% to 87.0%, Jericho Dam from 64.1% to 62.4% and Heyshope Dam from 96.0% to 95.4%.
Westoe at 35.1% and Morgenstond at 67.6% remained unchanged.
The average water levels in Mpumalanga dropped from 78.6% to 77.9%, and levels in Gert Sibande District dropped to 78.8%.
The department reminds residents that SA is a water-scarce country and urges the public to use it wisely.
