Meetings gather community input on IDP in Lekwa
Mayor Sifiso Mngemezulu did an IDP review to allow residents to voice their concerns.
Mayor Sifiso Mngemezulu led a series of productive meetings across several wards as part of the ongoing Integrated Development Plan review consultations. These meetings included wards 1 to 9 and Ward 12.
According to a statement released by the Lekwa communications department, these meetings gave residents a chance to influence this
development plan, which the municipality will embrace in the 2025/2026 financial year.
“The consultations focused on gathering community input to ensure the municipality’s plans align with the community’s needs,” explained communication officer Lubabalo Majenge.
He said the discussions aimed to identify key development areas, address challenges and shape Lekwa’s development direction. The consultation process is still ongoing, with many wards still awaiting meetings.
“These meetings remain essential to the municipality’s efforts to promote inclusive and responsive governance,” concluded Majenge.
