Blood service in Secunda awards company with special trophy
Blood drives resulted in 1 221 lives being saved.
The Teksa branch of the South African National Blood Service (SANBS) awarded RE/MAX Homefinders with a trophy on December 11.
RE/MAX received the Teksa Blood Drive of the Year trophy for managing to collect 407 units of blood for the blood service throughout the year.
This company hosted three blood drives this year and the blood they collected can be used to save 1 221 lives.
Dot Prinsloo, donor relations practitioner at Teksa Blood Service, said in the years that she has worked for the blood service, she has not seen a company collecting so many units of blood.
She thanked RE/MAX for their dedication and said it is the first time that a company receives such a trophy from the blood service. The blood service got 51% new donors or donors who came back after donating blood a long time ago.
