A 15-year-old boy drowned in a dam in eMbalenhle yesterday [January 14].

The teen and four friends walked from Ext 15 to the dam in Ext 22 to spend the day fishing.

According to information from the friends, the boy apparently decided to take a swim.

When the boy disappeared under the water, his friends alerted the teen’s family who then called the police.

Delta1 Rescue Diving retrieved the boy’s body last night.
