Community out and about after rising water in Standerton

Many gathered on January 11 to celebrate the receding waters with a day of fishing, playing and fun.

Though recent flooding caused many to panic, several community members made light of the situation by spending a day admiring the water levels in the Standerton River Park.

Some even travelled from Morgenzon to admire the majesty of the Vaal River.

“It is the most beautiful sight,” said Marika Geldenhuys, who travelled to Standerton with her husband Jan Willem.
