Lekwa Clean-Up Crew clears criminal hideout

According to André Kasselman of Kasselman Security Services, the area was prone to crime because the marsh created a hiding spot for criminals.

The Lekwa Clean-Up Crew (LCUC) visibly enhances the quality of life for Standerton residents through hard work and dedication by keeping our streets clean.

On January 7, the LCUC assigned Corrie Uys to cut down the reeds in a marsh across from the Kosmos Retirement Home.

According to André Kasselman of Kasselman Security Services, the area was prone to crime because the marsh created a hiding spot for criminals.

“We took this preventative measure to ensure the elderly living in the home are safe and no longer have to be concerned of dangers lurking in the bush,” said Kasselman.

They found much debris in the non-visible area, including waste and remnants of car accidents.

Beyond clearing the reeds, the LCUC tackled maintenance in residential areas, clearing trash off the streets and ensuring a cleaner community.
