Court in Secunda sends rapist from Sakhile to life in prison

He raped a 17-year-old girl who is severely intellectually disabled in May 2020 in Sakhile.

The Secunda Sexual Offenses Court sentenced Samuel Mduduzi to life in prison on February 10.

He raped a 17-year-old girl who is severely intellectually disabled in May 2020 in Sakhile. According to the reports, the victim has the mental capacity of a four-year-old child.

Eyewitnesses reported seeing the victim walking with Mduduzi in the dry gullies near Lisedi Primary School and then entering a big concrete pipe.

An eyewitness, who saw the crime, reported it to the victim’s mother immediately. According to the mother of the victim, Mduduzi was a close family friend and was aware of the victim’s mental state.

Forensic social workers, who are familiar with the case, stated that the victim was unable to testify in court due to her cognitive delays and speech impairments.

When asked about the incident, the victim would often become frustrated and angry.
