Phumula’s elderly celebrate Valentine’s Day in Bronkhorstspruit

Issues around the Older Persons Act were discussed with the elderly.

The Bronkhorstspruit police commander, Colonel Simon Dhladhla, treated the elderly of the Pumula Old Age Home on Valentine’s Day, February 14.

Together with Employee Health & Wellness (EHW), the CPF, Youth Crime Prevention Desk, crime prevention wardens and Mali Martin, the elderly were spoiled with gifts and lunch.

“To strengthen care and support systems for older persons, the team made and served lunch,” said Constable Cathrine Ramovha, media spokesperson for Bronkhorstspruit SAPS.

“Issues around the Older Persons Act were discussed with the elderly. They were also urged to report any form of abuse or neglect to the police.

“The management of the Phumula Old Age Home supported the idea and thanked all parties involved for making the day special for the elderly,” Ramovha concluded.
