Bronkies parkrun celebrates several milestones
Marnus van Staden celebrated his 250th parkrun.
The parkrun in Bronkhorstspruit on March 1 was one for reaching milestones. Annette van Schalkwyk celebrated completing her 400th parkrun.
Marnus van Staden held the flag high to announce his 250th parkrun, while Catharina Els finished 50 parkruns. Tharien van Straten and Mari-Susan van Straten achieved 10 parkruns each.
Veteran Johnie Jonker was the first finisher. He completed the route at 23:10. Louwrens van Schalkwyk’s time was 25:46.
Marnus van Staden’s 250th parkrun was completed in 30:14. He was followed by Leo du Plooy (30:47), James Meakings (31:40), Prince Dumisani Khumalo (33:12), Leon Ludwig (34:26), Jaco Pretorius (39:02), Metse Khumalo (39:39) and Emma Koekemoer (40:34).
Five parkrunners also improved their personal best times. They are Ida van Staden, Elizabeth Louisa Venter, Marjorie van Schalkwyk, Annette van Schalkwyk and Seaparo Phala.
The volunteers who made the event possible were André de Lange, Moonilal Dunmun, Gonasagree Govender, Bhavna Rampersadh, Despina Rockas, Filia Rockas, Casper Strydom and Adri van Wyk.
