Puppies from Standerton dumpsite find loving homes

One puppy died at the dumpsite and another is still stranded.

A majority of the puppies at the Standerton Dumpsite are now safe.

Riana Labuschagne, a local animal activist, said three of the five puppies found on the dumpsite have received loving homes.

One puppy died at the dumpsite and another is still stranded.

“It was a struggle to get the puppies from the dumpsite because the recyclers did not want them removed without compensation,” said Labuschagne.

She explained she sent dog food to the dumpsite to keep the remaining puppy nourished.

Arrangements for the last puppy’s relocation to a safe home are still underway. The three adopted puppies are thriving with their new families.
