Standerton teacher gives back for her 60th birthday

She donated several bags and school shoes to needy learners on her birthday, February 28.

Nancy Jabulile Simelane, deputy principal of Lindilanga Primary School, celebrated her 60th birthday by giving back to the learners and the school.

She donated several bags and school shoes to needy learners on her birthday, February 28. The bags have the phrase, ‘You don’t just teach, you inspire. Celebrating 60 years of NJ Simelane’ embroidered on them.

Though only 60 learners received bags and school shoes, every learner received a KFC meal for one.

The teachers of the school received food to celebrate the day as well. The school received a new printer and two laptops to celebrate the occasion, donated by Simelane’s family.

“Our mother loves the school, so it made sense to celebrate her birthday where she works with the learners she loves,” said Ayanda Simelane.
