The Standerton SAPS visited Thuto-Thebe Secondary School on March 5 to spearhead a community awareness campaign.

The Standerton Men and Women for Change visited the school with Standerton SAPS station commander Colonel Josias Afrika, the CPF chairperson Doctor Makhubu and several other stakeholders.

The purpose of this visit was to distribute sanitary pads to learners between the ages of 12 and 15. The girls received 167 packages of sanitary pads.

They encouraged the learners not to be ashamed of their menstrual cycles, not bully other girls who are on their cycle and to love and care for one another.

Afrika encouraged the learners to focus on their studies.

“You start building your future now; South Africa needs more educated people in our workforce,” said Afrika.
