The non-profit organisation, the Govan Mbeki Youth Golfers Development (GMYGD), will be hosting a Junior Golf Day specifically for the youth this Sunday, March 30 at Graceland Hotel, Casino and Country Club.

The aim of this day, which is held twice a year, is to give young and upcoming golf players the chance to develop themselves on the golf course and to get some exposure.

GMYGD was established in 2015 and include volunteers from eMbalenhle, Evander, Kinross, Secunda and Trichardt.

The volunteers support the development of youngsters’ golf skills and help them to reach their full potential and to focus on their personal development, also to distance children from drugs and crime related issues.

GMYGD is guided by team coaches, parents and the Mpumalanga Golf Union for junior golf and supported by Graceland’s management team.

They are still looking for sponsors in any form and businesses or individuals are welcome to sponsor them. They are preparing for about 50 junior golf players who will take part in the golf day on Sunday.
