Bronkies Dam full to the brim

The Bronkhorstspruit Dam’s water level indicated a slight decrease last week.

According to the Department of Water and Sanitation, the dam level dipped from 103.1% to 102.6% but is still higher than the previous year’s 75.9%.

A recent post on social media included photos of the dam wall on March 16 and 22.

The dam surface is plant-free in the photo taken on March 16, but on March 22, the area is covered in hyacinth, causing concern among locals.

Paddy Waller, director of the Bronkhorstspruit Catchment Management Forum, explained that these plants are never stationary but moved by the wind.
