Laerskool Trichardt welcomes new principal
Johan Prinsloo was inaugurated during ceremony in Secunda.
It is official. Laerskool Trichardt has begun a new chapter with Johan Prinsloo as its new principal. Retired principal Andries Spies handed the key to Prinsloo in an inauguration ceremony at Lake Umuzi’s Makoro Hall on March 26.
Before handing over the key symbolising the school, learners and teachers, Spies read from Numbers 6:24, “The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord appear to your rescue and be gracious to you; the Lord hear your prayers and give you peace.”
Spies said he was confident Prinsloo would continue with the school’s good morals, values and standards. He stressed that the staff and learners must give Prinsloo the same support he had received in his more than 25 years at Laerskool Trichardt.
In his inauguration speech, Prinsloo said, “Without your training, advice and support, I would have been unable to grow into the leader I am today.”
He thanked his family and friends for their support in his new role and Laerskool Trichardt’s teachers. King Masondo, the circuit manager for the Highveld Ridge West Department of Education, also attended the inauguration.
