Vehicle fills tank and evades payment in Standerton

A white Volkswagen hatchback without a front number plate filled up at the BP Fountain Filling Station on Kroch Street and sped off without paying on April 4.

The vehicle moved towards the R23 road to Balfour from Standerton. According to Jandré Kasselman, it is hard to track the vehicle because of the lack of number plates.

“Most cameras only detect the front number plates of a vehicle,” explained Kasselman.

He further explained the vehicle did not cross paths with security in Balfour, who stepped in and blocked the road to find the perpetrators.

Currently, KSS is analysing video footage to trace the vehicle owners. At the time of going to print, there was no new information.
