Crime prevention wardens patrol Delmas
The CPW assist the local police in preventing crime.
Fourteen wardens dressed in blue patrol the streets and hotspots of Delmas.
According to Captain Carla Hartley, the corporate communication officer for Delmas SAPS, the crime prevention wardens started duties last December.
As part of a Department of Community Safety, Security and Liaison project, the CPWs were appointed to help the local police with crime prevention, said Hartley.
“The CPWs work under the supervision of the Crime Prevention Unit of the Delmas SAPS and were appointed to assist and relieve the burden on police officers,” Hartley added.
