Two Secunda girls aim for Turkey
Models ask businesses and individuals to sponsor them.
Two local girls, Mpho Mtshopi (12), a learner at Laerskool Oranjegloed Primary School and Boitumelo Tefu (14), a learner at Highveld Park High School, were chosen to go to Turkey for modelling work.
Mtshopi started modelling in 2022 at a supernova event at her school. She later took part in the Ekasi beauty pageant and was crowned as the Queen of Ekasi.
She joined the South Africa All-Star Modelling initiative last year and was crowned as the Face of Star Light, Miss Valentina, Junior Miss Pre-eminent South Africa and the Face of Spring Beauty.
She took part in a beauty contest hosted by Events and Pageants South Africa in Pretoria and won the Miss Mini Teen SA and Miss Mini Universe SA 2025 titles and was chosen to represent South Africa in Turkey in May where she will take part in the Miss Mini Teen World.
Tefu won the Miss Petite Teen Mpumalanga South Africa 2025 title at the Events and Pageants South Africa event and will also be going to Turkey in May.
Her modelling career began at an early age when she was interested in modelling work and enjoyed dressing up and letting her creativity flow.
Tefu wants to use the opportunity to go to Turkey to make South Africans proud of her and to bring home the title of Miss Teen Universe 2025 or Miss Teen World 2025.
Both Tefu and Mtshopi need sponsorships to make this dream of theirs possible and reached out to businesses and individuals to donate any amount to them.
The sponsorship money will cover flight tickets, passports, visas, accommodation, transportation, competition entry fees, travel insurance, medical expenses and outfits necessary for the duration of the event.
Tefu is part of Dignity Dreams, a non-profit organisation which will issue an 18A tax certificate for any donations towards Dignity Dreams’ cause. Dignity Dreams produces washable sanitary wear and will give certificates to anybody who donates towards the purchase of these pads.
A pack of pads costs R500 and consists of six washable and reusable pads. Dignity Dreams will give R210 of the purchase price to Tefu for her journey to Turkey.
