Standerton’s Ext 8 cries for water
Residents explained their only way of receiving water is through a truck that does not run on a reliable schedule.
Residents of Ext 8 rarely enjoy the pleasure of running water in their community. Recently, the Standerton Advertiser found several residents waiting on the side of the road with buckets.
When asked about the circumstances, residents explained they had no running water in their homes for nearly two months.
Residents explained their only way of receiving water is through a truck that does not run on a reliable schedule.
“The truck might come once a fortnight if we are lucky,” said a resident.
The residents explained they rarely have running water in their homes.
Sometimes, a trickle of water would come out of their taps in the early mornings around 03:00, but the water does not last long, and the pressure is barely there.
Some residents may not receive water from the truck, as the supply is not sufficient to meet the high demand.
