Red Star parkrun in Delmas yields many personal best times

“Whether you are running, jogging or walking - it is all about fun, fitness, and fresh air.”

Runners from all over joined in the full course park run at the Red Star Raceway, situated on the N12 just outside Delmas, on April 26.

Regardt Roos from Bronkhorstspruit finished in first place with a personal best time of 19:18. In second place was Bongani Mstweni from Delmas in 19:51.

In third and fourth place were first-timers Barry Sweetman and Hanru Herbst.

Derek Slabbert ended in fifth place with a personal best time of 25:15 with Michelle Slabbert, also with a personal best time of 26:10.

Many more personal best times were achieved during the morning’s run and heaps of first-timers joined the day’s event.

This week’s volunteers were Britanni Grassman, Jacqueline Grassman, Keagan Grassman, Wendy Pieterse, Mia Basson and Zahn Grassman.

“Thank you to all our participants as well as our volunteers,” said Jacky Grassmann, the event director.

The next Red Star parkrun full course event will take place on May 3.

“Whether you are running, jogging or walking – it is all about fun, fitness, and fresh air,” said Jacky.

“Bring your friends, bring your smiles and let’s make memories on the track.”
