Local entities unite in Bronkhorstspruit to combat child abuse

The 2025 campaign was held at Ubuhle Care and Development Centre in Bronkhorstspruit.

It is a tradition for the Mali Martin Polokegong organisation to commemorate Child Protection Week each year. The 2025 campaign was held at Ubuhle Care and Development Centre in Bronkhorstspruit.

This vibrant and meaningful event was attended by representatives from Mali Martin, Ubuhle, CMR, the Department of Health, the Department of Sports, COGTA, and SAPS.

Participants included Grade R learners from Ubuhle Care, who took part in a range of fun sporting activities such as sack races, egg-and-spoon races, tug of war, and hula hoop challenges.

Children received valuable information and education from SAPS, the Department of Health, Ubuhle, and Mali Martin on topics such as abuse, bullying, health, self-care, children’s rights, and protection from harm.

They were encouraged to speak up if they experience abuse, and all attendees were reminded to make use of the services available in Bronkhorstspruit to help combat child abuse and protect vulnerable children. To conclude the event, medals and certificates were awarded to all participants.
