Standerton Police and security service are looking for copper thieves
Anybody with information that can lead to an arrest can contact police.
Kasselman Security Services (KSS) had its hands full this past week, thwarting two separate attempted cable thefts. On July 5, a KSS reaction officer noticed suspicious individuals running towards River Park from Burger Street.
Upon further investigation, the responding officer found an open manhole in which the suspects had attempted to cut cables. The suspects fled the scene before any cables could be taken, leaving their tools behind.
In another instance, on July 11, KSS discovered trenches next to the Lions Club in River Park. It is alleged that the suspect dug the trenches to gain easier access to underground cables.

According to the KSS reaction officer on duty, the ground was undisturbed during his patrol the previous day. When he returned, he discovered a trench approximately 500 metres long.
The officer found stripped cables, and copper wiring had been stolen.
No suspects have been identified or arrested for this crime. Anyone with information that could lead to an arrest is urged to contact KSS at 071 045 1525 or the Standerton SAPS at 017 719 1250.
