Delmas’ Red Star parkrun do it on the track

Please note that the next parkrun, scheduled for July 26, has been cancelled as the venue will be unavailable on the day.

Of the 30 participants in the 182nd Red Star parkrun at Red Star Raceway in Delmas, six achieved new personal bests. The runners who improved their times were Melinda Botha, Balungile Sulelo, Gerhardt Botha, Sandra Brocklebank, Melinda Petzold, and Chris Petzold.

Bongani Mtsweni was the first to cross the finish line, completing the 5km route—run on tar this week—in 20:14.

Lyza Abia Magampa followed with a time of 24:03, ahead of Guillaume Venter (31:34), Melinda Botha (32:50), Russell Elliott (32:58), Balungile Sulelo (39:13), young Conrad Botha (39:44), Gerhardt Botha (40:00), Sandra Brocklebank (40:16), and Tracey Eliot (40:53).

The event was made possible by the dedicated volunteers: Rochelle Gouws, Brittani Grassman, Jacqueline Grassman, Keagan Grassman, Zahn Grassman, Erica Humphries, and Jens Rothmann.
