eMzinoni teens shine on national rugby stage
Seven boys and three girls were selected to represent Mpumalanga in various rugby tournaments during the recent school holidays.
Several teenagers from eMzinoni are making waves in rugby, thanks to the support and training provided by the eMzinoni Sports Academy.
According to Tegobo Maloa, seven boys and three girls were selected to represent Mpumalanga in various rugby tournaments during the recent school holidays.
Siyabonga Hlanze, Lwandle Grass, Phiwokuhle Dludlu, Sphe Masuku, Mcedisi Mkomo, Sqiniseko Mhlongo and Donald Chakanse participated in the National Winter Games in Durban from July 11 to 15.
These boys attend MD Covadia and Ikhethelo High School. On the girls’ side, Lungile Simelane from Mzinoni High School represented the Pumas’ U18 women’s team at the South African Rugby Union (SARU) Girls Week, held in Johannesburg from June 30 to July 4.
Noxolo Nxumalo and Khayisa Mhlaba from AD Nkosi Secondary School also participated in the SARU Girls Week, representing the Mpumalanga U16 team.
