Kalie de Haas hosts cross-country meet in Standerton
Several schools from the region took part, including Standerton Primary, Laerskool Jeugkrag, Morgenzon Landbou Akademie, Laerskool Trichardt, Curro Secunda, and many others.
Laerskool Kalie de Haas hosted its annual cross-country event on July 25, where learners showed remarkable determination while tackling a challenging course.
Several schools from the region took part, including Standerton Primary, Laerskool Jeugkrag, Morgenzon Landbou Akademie, Laerskool Trichardt, Curro Secunda, and many others.
Kalie de Haas learners delivered impressive performances across various age categories:
In the U7 girls group, Luca van Aswegen placed ninth and Lana Taljaardt came in 10th. Nomhlekhabo Mahlangu secured seventh place in the U9 girls category.
In the U10 girls race, Marjolé Uys achieved a strong second-place finish, while Ané Greaves placed seventh. Among the U7 boys, TJ Ngwenya and Seluleko Nkomonde finished fifth and sixth, respectively, crossing the line close together.
Joshua Wessels claimed third place in the U8 boys group, with Bohlale Tsotetsi and Kamohelo finishing eighth and ninth. In the U10 boys category, Zakkai Wessels earned a sixth-place spot.
Janko van der Linden topped the U11 boys race, finishing in first place. In the U12 boys group, Reneilwe Tsotetsi came in seventh. The school congratulated all its runners for their efforts and sportsmanship during the event.
