Soccer teams play in Standerton on Women’s Day

The Standerton Super League continued on August 9, with a soccer day celebrating Women’s Day at the Standerton Showgrounds.

SADTU, Sasol, Standerton Hospital, and the Giants competed in the league, while the Royal Lions and Lekwa United women’s teams played a friendly match.

The event was also an opportunity for charity, as the organisers urged spectators to bring a pack of sanitary pads to support girls in need.

SADTU beat Sasol 3-2 in the first match and Standerton Hospital beat the Giants 4-0 in the second match.

SADTU and Standerton Hospital then faced off in the finals. After no goals were scored, SADTU won with 4-2 on penalties.

The Royal Lions beat Lekwa United Ladies by 1-0.
