Cullinan multi-agency apprehends alleged armed robbers
A coordinated tactical response led to their swift arrest as well as the recovery of a loaded firearm.
The Cullinan police, working with multiple agencies, successfully apprehended two alleged armed robbers in Kaalfontein on August 12.
The multidisciplinary operation was carried out in the early morning by the Proshield Drone Unit, Proshield Tactical Unit, Echo-1, the Cullinan Reaction Unit (CRU) and members of Cullinan SAPS.
Using drone surveillance, officers were able to locate two armed suspects attempting to flee. A coordinated tactical response led to their swift arrest and the recovery of a loaded firearm.
Acting station commander of Cullinan SAPS, Captain FG Mahlangu, commended the outstanding efforts of the team.
“Further investigations will be conducted to determine whether the suspects can be linked to a series of armed robbery cases across the region,” said Sergeant Connie Moganedi, corporate spokesperson for Cullinan SAPS.
