Avontuur and team feed people in Sakhile
They plan to expand their operation to give more to the community.
Lindiwe Avontuur and her team provided food to 60 community members in need on August 6.
Cynthia Caroline Thabethe, Richard Ncongwane, Figile Matebhula, and Vanessa van Rooyen form part of this charitable team.
They gave bread, vegetables, and meat to 39 elderly people, nine men, and 15 women.
“Normally, we give food to over 100 people in the community,” said Avontuur.
She explained that only 60 people were present on August 6 because many had received Sassa grants and were shopping in town.
Avontuur and her team usually focus on providing food to elderly people in need, but they do not turn away anyone who needs help.
They plan to expand their operation to give more to the community.
“We are renovating a larger house that will give us more space to distribute food to the community,” said Avontuur.
