Sasol Secunda Bowls Club men beat Witbank in Mpumalanga West Trips sub-district tournament
Michael Maherry, Dean Stoffels and Lanie Nel went through to the final round against Witbank Golf Bowling Club and secured first place with a final score of 18-16.
The Sasol Secunda Bowls Club men and women competed in the Mpumalanga West Trips sub-district tournament from August 16 to 17.
The men’s team competed at the Middelburg Stadium Bowling Club with 24 teams in action.
The women competed at the Witbank Bowling Club, where 19 teams participated in this event. Gwynneth Walters-Gerout, Louise Pretorius, and Celia Lourens made it to the third and fourth place playoffs.
They beat Middelburg Country Club 17- 12 to secure a third place in their division. The Sasol Secunda Bowls Club men and women advance to the Mpumalanga Top Eight playoffs, happening in Ermelo on September 13 and 14.
