A raging storm just passed through the Standerton area, causing massive power outages across town.

Residents believe the outages were caused by trees clashing against electrical wires.

According to Ward 10 councillor, Wilma Venter, parts of the J, V, R, P and K lines are currently off.

This affects parts of Ward 10 and 4 as well as farms around town.

Venter stated that the outage was reported and the municipality will send out a team when the weather has calmed down.
