The Evander Magistrate’s Court has on November 21 postponed a case against 26-year-old Mozambican national, Diofo Calangue, following his arrest for a house robbery and alleged rape that occurred on November, at Ext 18, eMbalenhle.
The police preliminary reports indicated a family was asleep when two unknown men entered the house at about 02:30. It is alleged that the suspects gained entry through a sliding door that was not locked due to a broken handle.
The victims were reportedly threatened by the suspects, who were armed with dangerous weapons and had their faces covered.
They demanded money, tied up some of the victims, and ransacked the house.

Two women were allegedly raped before the suspects fled the scene with undisclosed items, and another suspect remains at large.
His matter was postponed to January 27. According to the police, Calangue was also linked through fingerprints to other house robberies and house-breaking cases that occurred in eMbalenhle and other areas.
Police are also looking for a man know only as Morris, who is also Mozambican as he might have information on this case.
