Six men rob and assault woman in eMbalenhle

Police are searching for suspects.

The eMbalenhle Police opened a house robbery and assault with grievious bodily harm this morning, December 30.

This comes after six men who wore balaclavas and were armed with fire-arms, robbed a woman at her house in Extention 20.

According to Sergeant Busi Mthethwa, spokesperson of eMbalenhle Police. the woman was allegedly sleeping and woke up from the noise of her friend who was screaming in the outside room.

The woman also heard a gunshot and when she looked through the window, she saw six men assaulting her friend outside and they demanded her to open the door to the house.

When the friend refused to open the door, the men broke the door to get access to the house.

Sergeant Mthethwa said it is alleged that four of the suspects started assaulting the woman inside of the house with a steal metal.

They hit her all over her body and kicked her while they asked her for money.

She showed them her drawer and they took R1 200 cash and her cell phone and fled the scene.

Sergeant Mthethwa said the suspects are unknown and the investigation continues.
