35-year-old man with bullet wounds dies in clinic in eMbalenhle

Police invite community members whose gun licenses and competency certificates have expired, to renew them at the police station.

Police in eMbalenhle have arrested a 42-year-old man for murder after a 35-year-old man was shot dead in Ext 14 on Saturday afternoon, August 6.

According to Const Busi Mthethwa, police spokesperson, the Ext 4 clinic informed the police of a man who died at the clinic.

The police found the deceased had a bullet wound in his stomach.

Medical personnel declared him dead.

Mthethwa said a murder docket was opened.

According to Mthethwa, the police invite community members whose gun licenses and competency certificates have expired, to renew them at the police station.

She said applicants should take along their firearms.

“Even those who do not possess competency certificates are welcome to apply for them,” said Mthethwa.
Mthethwa said people who want to hand over their guns to the police, can do so as the amnesty process is still open.
