Bail application at Standerton Magistrate’s Court opposed

The Women’s League of the ANC in Thuthukani once again gathered at the Standerton Magistrate’s Court to protest against the bail application of Sthembiso Mbhokane and Bafana Mbhokane.

Court proceedings in the murder case of Surprise Mnqobi Mkhwanazi, were interrupted on Wednesday, September 14 at 10:45 due to load-shedding.

The Women’s League of the ANC in Thuthukani once again gathered at the Standerton Magistrate’s Court to protest against the bail application of Sthembiso Mbhokane and Bafana Mbhokane.

Surprise Mnqobi Mkhwanazi went missing on July 18 and his body was found in the Vaal River afterwards.

Information suggested that victim was kidnapped.

The Mbhokane-brothers, as well as Sibusiso Radebe, were apprehended in connection with the crime.

More than one court appearance have been made.

The first two suspects are in custody, while Radebe is out on bail, on certain conditions.

Radebe has to report to Sakhile Police twice a week.

According to a source, the family submitted affidavits which were accepted by the court.

The source said petitions, signed by a total of a thousand people, were accepted as well.

References were also made to the vocal picketing outside.

The source also said sworn submissions to support their bail applications were presented to court previously.

The next court appearance is scheduled for September 22 when a decision will be made to grant bail or not.
