The dumped body of a fully developed baby, possibly a newborn, was found in a stormwater drain in Mandela Section, eMbalenhle, today.

A community member who resides near the stormwater drain, spotted the tiny body this afternoon.

Paramedics declared the infant dead.

The police and medical services are still on the scene waiting for the forensic pathologists to remove the body.
