Bronkhorstspruit court postpones case against suspected child rapist

The case is postponed to April 29.

About 150 people marched to the Bronkhorstspruit Magistrate’s Court this morning to picket in front of the court house with the appearance of a suspected child rapist.

The man who is apparently related to the little victim’s father, appeared in the dock today.

The seven-year-old girl was raped in Rethabiseng on April 7. She had to be admitted to hospital afterwards.

The suspect’s first court appearance was on April 9. A mob of angry residents also flocked to the courthouse that day, demanding justice for the little girl and other victims of gender-based violence and femicide.

Today, the magistrate postponed the case to April 29. The suspect was remanded in custody.
