Robotics kids in the Secunda area excel

Robotics learners from different schools in the area were chosen to take part in the World Robot Olympiad’s robotics competition that took place on Friday, 29 July.

This competition for primary school learners took place in Gauteng and for the more senior learners it will be hosted in August, also in Gauteng.

The top 10 teams will be chosen at the competition and will then represent South Africa in Germany in September.

The coach of Robokids in Secunda, Jillian August, said it is the first time that children from this area will be competing at this level.

The World Olympiad is an event incorporating science, technology, education and robotics which brings young people from all over the world together to develop their creativity and problem-solving skills through challenging and educational robotics competitions.
