Secunda Police and Secunda Mall to host GBV awareness to help victims
Survivors of gender-based violence can join this cause on Saturday, August 27.
If you are a victim of gender-based violence or know someone who needs help, attend the gender-based violence awareness day at the Secunda Mall on Saturday, August 27.
To coincide with Women’s Month, the firearms register offices (DFO) of the Secunda Police are driving this project to reach victims, their families and survivors of abuse.
They aim to empower rape victims, victims of assault and those trapped in violent relationships. with guidance, information, advice and support.
The police will take along the Curamus Victim Support, members of the police’s Women’s Network, members of the CPF, emergency services, Sasol, and the traffic department at Govan Mbeki Municipality.
The mall will supply the space and the volunteers will hand out cupcakes, pamphlets and advice from 11:00.
Survivors of gender-based violence can join this cause next weekend.
People are asked to wear purple that day in support and, in some instances in memory, of victims of gender-based violence.
