James Harris takes best photo at Highveld Photography Club

You are welcome to join the next meeting on September 9.

Photographers entered their best photos for the monthly meeting of the Highveld Photography Club (Hoëveld Fotografiekub) on Friday evening, August 12.

James Harris was the winner in the prescribed subject section with his photograph, In the Eyes.

The judge for the evening was Willie Labuschagne who is also the founder of the Hoëveld Photography Club and the prescribed subject was Boundaries/Grense.

Dr. Leon Pelser was the best among the senior photographers and won this section with his photo, The Pringle Bay Storm .

He received a certificate of merit for this photo, as well as one of his other photos, Fred Mono, in the two-tone photo section and, Say Ahh, in the nature section.

Danie Smit received a certificate of merit for his photo, Chick Meal, in the nature birds category.

Bianca van Vuuren was the winner among the junior photographers with her photo, Perfume, and she also received a certificate of merit for this photo.

The other photographers who did well and received certificates of merit are Danie Smit for his photo, Chick Meal, in the wildlife section, Yolande Pietersen for her photos, Sunset Photolandie, in the landscape section, and Grense of Boundaries, in the pictorial section, Louis van der Walt for his photos, Wat, in the two-tone photo section, Hello World in the nature section and Rosemary Maze,in the prescribed subject section, Anzette Snyders for her photographs, Dragon Drink, and, I See you, both in the pictorial section and, Extra Hand, in the prescribed subject section, Sussa Pelser for her photograph, Drops on Orange Rose, in the pictorial section and Johan Coetzee for his photo, Water in my Eye, in the photojournalistic section.

The Highveld Photography Club’s next meeting is on Friday evening, September 9 at 18:00 for 18:30 in the Scrum Inn at the Sasol Recreation Club.

The prescribed topic for September is Dark/Moody Food.
