Celebrate your Heritage Day by donating blood

Blood Services in Secunda and Bethal need your blood.

The South African National Blood Service (SANBS) is celebrating Heritage Day on the SANBS’s 21st anniversary.

Ravi Reddy, CEO of the SANBS, said the SANBS’s heritage is deep-seated in its hard-earned reputation as a respected authority on blood transfusion services worldwide.

“It has been a 21 year journey of challenges and triumph, but at the heart of it all are the donors who are dedicated to altruistically giving their time and live saving blood to those who need it,” said Reddy.

“Integral to the SANBS’s success are the regular blood donors, without whom this successful legacy could not have been built.”

Reddy urged everyone to spare some time this Heritage Day which is celebrated on Saturday, September 24 to donate blood.

“Embrace our heritage, it goes beyond taking pride in cultural roots, it is about celebrating the versatile community that is South Africa.

“So, while you consider your unique celebration of Heritage Day this year, make time for an act of kindness and help SANBS to sustain one of our country’s most treasured resource, our nation’s blood supply.”
