More alleged victims come forward after eMbalenhle artist’s arrest
He was granted bail of R2000, but it only relates to one of the cases and he therefore still remains in custody.

A well-known artist (39) from eMbalenhle was rearrested on another case minutes after he was granted bail in the Evander Magistrate’s Court on September 20.
He was arrested last month for the alleged rape of a 16-year-old girl.
The court granted him bail of R2 000 with strict bail conditions, but he did not see the outside of the courthouse.
Magistrate Kabelo Mashakeng said the bail was granted only for the first case. Other cases were opened when more alleged victims stepped forward after seeing that the accused was in custody.
“The accused is before the court for one count of rape and will bring other applications for other charges.
“The applicant was charged with other cases while his bail hearing was still underway.
“The investigating officer testified that there are more cases to follow after this,” said Mashakeng.
Mashakeng said the accused was not a flight risk and had handed himself over to the police although he was at that time not yet arrested.
The accused was released on bail on the condition that he does not contact the complainant.

He was also expected to report at the eMbalenhle Police Station daily between 06:00 and 18:00.
The case was postponed to October 27.
Three more cases of rape and sexual assault were opened against the artist since his arrest.
Although the man’s identity is known to Ridge Times, according to law, his name must be withheld until he has pleaded to all the charges against him.
