Cullinan cops arrest man for unlicensed gun
Police officers were conducting crime prevention duties on Monday, September 26 when receiving information from a reliable source about a man who is in possession of a firearm and ammunition.
Members of the Cullinan Police arrested a middle-aged man for having an unlicensed firearm and ammunition.
Police officers were conducting crime prevention duties on Monday, September 26 when they received information about a man who has a possibly illegal firearm and ammunition.
The police handled the matter urgently and arrested the suspect.
According to Chapter Two of the Firearms Control Act of 2000, general prohibition in respect of firearms states that no person may possess a firearm unless he or she holds a licence, permit or authorisation issued in terms of this Act for that firearm.
At the time of going to print, the suspect was due to appear in the Cullinan Magistrate’s Court.
