Number of participants at Standerton parkrun climbs to 85

Mthokozisi Tshwala set a new personal best time of 20:01, followed by Jacques Ferreira who ran towards the finish line in a time of 20:06, also a new personal best.

Altogether 85 participants lined up for the parkrun on Saturday, January 21, with seven athletes improving their times and two first-timers joining the activities.

Johan Ferreira registered a time of 24:29, while Nina Pretorius clocked in at 25:54 in her 50th event.

Theo Schönfeldt completed the 5km in 27:02, Deon Steynberg’s time was 27:39 and Wikus Pretorius’ time was 27:51 in his 50th event.

Antoinette Herbst, Johannes Vosloo, Kay Pillay, Krishnalal Ramdharee, Lizette Jansen van Rensburg, Jean Robertson, Priscilla Ramdharee, Renette de Sousa, Ruwan Vermaak, Sylvy
Moodley, Wessel Herbst and Willy Smith were at their posts to ensure a safe and smooth event.

Run director Van Rensburg, thanked the volunteers before the countdown began.

The parkrun, a free event, takes place at the Standerton River Park every Saturday at 08:00. Athletes, walkers or joggers are welcome to get some exercise.
