Men from Leandra get jail time for respective murders
Ngubeni said Mthethwa was traced and got arrested on the same day of the incident and was released on bail until he was convicted.

Musa Mthethwa (38) from Leslie was sentenced to 13 years in prison by the Evander Regional for the murder and assault of a 55-year-old man two years ago.
According to Constable Nonsikelelo Ngubeni, the Leandra police spokesperson, the deceased saw Mthethwa who was fighting with his friend.
Ngubeni said Mthethwa stabbed his friend in the hand with a knife and when the deceased tried to intervene, Mthethwa turned on him and stabbed him in the neck. He died on the spot.
Ngubeni said Mthethwa was traced and arrested on the same day. He was released on bail until he was convicted.
Mthethwa was sentenced on Monday, January 23.

The Evander Regional Court also sent a 43-year-old father from Leandra was also sentenced to seven years in prison on Monday, January 23 for murder.
According to Ngubeni, the father went to his victim’s house in April 2021 when his wife told him that the deceased raped his daughter.
The father asked the deceased about the allegations and when the deceased refuted them, the father stabbed him in the thigh with a sharp object.
The deceased was taken to Lebohang Clinic where he was declared dead. The father handed himself over to the police after a case was opened.
