Granny (62) is gunned down in her house in eMbalenhle
The police found 11 spent cartridges on the scene.
A 62-year-old woman was shot dead in her home at Ext 2, known as White City, in eMbalenhle on February 10.
According to Constable Busi Mthethwa, the eMbalenhle police spokesperson, a community member called to inform the police about a shooting in his neighbourhood.
Mthethwa said upon police arrival, they met with a neighbour who took them to the body of a woman in the passage of her house.
The deceased was shot three times in her right shoulder and 11 bullet cartridges were found on the scene.
Mthethwa said the police found bullet holes in the window leading to the lounge.

According to Mthethwa, the woman was watching TV with her 13-year-old grandchild when she was shot.
Nothing is missing from the house and it did not appear as if the shooter entered the house.
She said the gate was locked and there were no signs that anyone entered the yard.
Neighbours claimed to have heard the shots but they did not see the shooter. Paramedics declared the woman dead on the scene and a case of murder was opened.
