High court to hear murder trial of Standerton’s Surprise Mnqobi Mkhwanazi
Brothers Sthembiso and Bafana Mbhokane and Sibusiso Radebe appeared in the Standerton Magistrate’s Court last week.
Since the murder of Surprise Mnqobi Mkhwanazi last July, three suspects have made several court appearances.
Brothers Sthembiso and Bafana Mbhokane and Sibusiso Radebe appeared in the Standerton Magistrate’s Court last week.
The deceased went missing on July 18, and his body was found in the Vaal River. Information suggested he had been kidnapped, and a police investigation followed.
The docket was handed to the National Prosecuting Authority for further action.

The ANC Women’s League in Thuthukani strongly opposed bail and demonstrated in front of the court on more than one occasion.
The petition to oppose bail garnered more than 1 000 signatures. The Mbhokane brothers and Radebe were arrested for the murder, with Radebe initially only charged with possession of an illegal firearm and ammunition.
Radebe’s bail was withdrawn after his arrest, and because the murder charge was added to the docket, he can apply for bail on March 14.
The three will appear in court again on March 27, when a date for the High Court in Middelburg will be scheduled.
