Tuck shop owner in eMbalenhle robbed at gunpoint

They stole R5 000, shoes, cigarettes and a cellphone.

The police in eMbalenhle opened a business robbery case after a tuck shop owner was robbed in Ext 20, eMbalenhle, on March 15.

According to Constable Busi Mthethwa, the eMbalenhle police spokesperson, the owner was awakened by a group of people breaking open the back door of his shop.

The robbers pointed a gun at him and instructed him to lie on the floor and not to look at them.

They assaulted him and demanded money.

The robbers stole R5 000, eight pairs of shoes, cigarettes and a cellphone.

The nine culprits were not identified, and no arrests were made.
