Khanyile from Standerton gives warning about damage to the economy
The MP also said the right to protest is a fundamental right, but it is not a licence to intimidate and loot.
DA member of parliament, Angel Khanyile, was quite outspoken about the national shutdown on March 20.
“It would be a mistake to underestimate the damage that the EFF’s national shutdown could cause to businesses and workers,” Khanyile said.
“That is why the DA is going to court for an urgent interdict against the EFF, so that looters and anarchists can be stopped in their tracks.
“But to avoid further chaos and damage to the economy, we now need to stand together.”
The MP also said the right to protest is a fundamental right, but it is not a licence to intimidate and loot.
“The DA has zero tolerance for violence and we will not take chances with people’s businesses or livelihoods.”
