Two people arrested in eMbalenhle for conspiracy to commit murder

Vukta members caught the suspects at the guesthouse and took them to the eMbalenhle Police Station,

eMBALENHLE – Two suspects appeared before the Evander Magistrate’s Court on April 11 in on a charge of conspiracy to commit murder.

The police arrested the duo on April 5 when members of the Vukanini Taxi Association (Vukta) received a tip-off about the alleged armed suspects staying at a guesthouse in eMbalenhle.

Vukta members caught the suspects at the guesthouse and took them to the eMbalenhle Police Station, where they were arrested and charged with conspiracy to commit murder.

Constable Busi Mthethwa, the eMbalenhle police spokesperson, confirmed the arrest and said the police are still investigating the case.

The two men abandoned their bail application through their state-appointed attorney when they appeared in court.

The court postponed the case to May 23 for further investigation.

Vukta members came in numbers to the court.

The association chairperson, Fanyana Sibanyoni, told the media he could not comment because the case is sub judice.
